Guidelines for taking cuttings

Always take cuttings from vigorous, healthy shoots.

Most cuttings need to be at least 4 to 6 inches long.

Always take the cutting just beneath the node. This is just below the point where the leaf is attached.

Always use a sharp, clean knife.

Remove the leaves from the lower half of the cutting.

Use rooting hormones on all of your cuttings. These can be bought from many garden supply stores or by mail order.

Follow all instructions and always use them as directed on the label.

Keep all cuttings clean by not placing them in dirty containers or on dirty tables.
